With the sale of Commanders believed to be imminent, the Snyders have vacated the facility

It actually seems to be on the verge.

After nearly 24 years in Dan Snyder’s ownership, The Commanders could very soon be under new management.

According to multiple sources, Dan and Tanya Snyder vacated the team’s facility before selling the team. As a source explained, they left at the end of December.

We were also told that within the building the word used in reference to a possible sale is “imminent”. Multiple sources said a sale could be approved and announced once the upcoming league meetings in Arizona take place.

Dan and Tanya Snyder announced in November that they were considering selling all or part of the franchise. The process of securing bids then unfolded amid some skepticism from other owners that Dan Snyder will actually pull it off.

The identity of the group that will buy the team is not known. At least three different potential bidders have visited the facility and stadium.

A team spokesman said via text message that the organization is not commenting on a potential transaction.

josh harris recently he strengthened his candidacy by adding Mitchell Rales to the Harris group. Whether Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was able to make an offer for the team remains uncertain. There have been conflicting reports as to whether Bezos was frozen or allowed to participate in the bidding process.

There is one more issue that needs to be resolved about Dan Snyder’s request for compensation from the other owners. As a source explained, the request for compensation covers matters currently being investigated by outside counsel Mary Jo White. It is believed that the other owners will never agree to such full and comprehensive legal protection for Snyder.

Ultimately, at least 24 owners must agree to the sale for it to go through. And it’s ambitious, to say the least, that a potential transaction that hasn’t been announced will be accelerated to the point where it’s simultaneously approved and disclosed.

On the other hand, this is a unique situation. The goal might be to button everything up quietly and discreetly so that everything can be wrapped up without anyone getting cold feet once the possible exit crystallizes.
