West Ham vs Southampton: How to watch live, link to stream, team news

West Ham and Southampton meet in a huge relegation six at the London Stadium on Sunday, with the Hammers and Saints separated by just a point.

How are the Hammers doing in this situation? Well they have only won two of their last 14 Premier League games and the pressure is mounting on David Moyes as his side sit in the relegation zone with 12 games of the season to come 1-1 home draw with Aston Villa last time out in the league. They have won all eight UEFA Conference League games by reaching the quarter-finals (they meet Belgian club Gent in the last eight), but their form in the league has suffered badly. However, five of their six Premier League wins this season have come at home, so they hope the home fans will get behind them early this season.

As for Southampton, well scrap them. Interim head coach Ruben Selles saw his side fight back from a 3-1 deficit to a late 3-3 draw with Tottenham last time and that draw felt like a win. Can Saints keep the positive momentum going? They’ve gotten better defensively, but time is ticking, and while they’re only two points from safety, they’ve played at least one more game than any other team around them. They have a tough remaining schedule but have done well against the big boys this season and they Draw against West Ham in the second leg in October as this looks like a very even matchup.

Major storylines and in-form players to watch

Declan Rice is the captain for West Ham and he’s doing his best to dig in and push them forward. That being said, Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings will all need to find form, and fast if they are to pull West Ham up the table and away from this relegation battle they should never be anywhere near.

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse is also dragging Saints through games and an unlikely resurgence of the fit again Theo Walcott has played a big part in them picking up plenty of points since Selles took charge. The young duo of Romeo Lavia and Armel Bella-Kotchap continue to develop well in midfield and defense and the Saints now feel they have a chance to break out of the last three.
