Future “Par Guy” Rob Gronkowski gives an epic interview at the Valspar Championship

Former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski was in attendance Friday at the Innisbrook Resort for the second round of the Valspar Championship.

Between golfing — and apparently playing a lot of cornhole — the retired Gronk stopped by the interview area, where he gave a Hall of Fame-worthy performance.

We’re just releasing the full transcript in its glorious entirety:

Q What brings you here to the Valspar today?

BIG: “Well, I came to Valspar last year and just had a wonderful time. The special thing about it is that you can see some golf but at the same time this place is so great. I also played cornhole and watched everyone play golf. So I had to do some activities because I love activities. I won some games in cornhole against some of the lightning guys, I beat them in cornhole.

“It’s just great. It’s a great atmosphere here. It brings the community of Tampa Bay together here. Only this weather is simply spectacular. It’s 85 degrees outside. There are two clouds in the sky, the sun is just beating down on everyone just a good day to feel good.”

Q How many rounds of golf do you think you would play in a year?

BIG: “I’ve probably played about a round of golf in total over the last six years. I have played many golf simulators in the north. I’m getting better. Let me tell you, these golf simulators have a feeling that they are actually very accurate.

“There’s one thing I like to do, putt-putt. But I’m telling you right now I’m still very young, lived the fast life but I’m starting to settle down more and I’m keen on golf will be one of my games in the future. Eventually I will play in Pro-Ams. I’d say I’ll be a par guy one day. About 15 years I’ll shoot par.

Q So PGA Tour champions when you turn 50?

BIG: “No, I’ll be the Pro-Am champion, yes, against everyone else.”

Q Have you met PGA Tour players?

BIG: “Actually, I’ve never met really professional golfers. Really not. Not personally, no. I met Tiger Woods very quickly once. He was at the major golf tournament in New England and trained at our facility. Oh, yeah, and he just walked by, and I said, “What’s up, Tiger?” And he said, ‘What’s up, Gronk?’ I shook his hand, so I’m pretty sure that’s the only professional guy I’ve ever met.

“But I’ve actually met Shooter McGavin before and if you ask me he’s the #1 most professional golf guy of all time. I met shooters.”

(He makes noise like a gun.)

Q If you could choose the Masters Champions dinner menu, what would your menu be?

BIG: “My menu would be cheeseburgers, chicken finger subs, buffalo wings with blue cheese on the side and of course my lovely ice shaker right here with an ice cold drink in it. I always get a little tipsy, baby.

“Did you mean menu, like food?”

Q Yes. That’s great.

BIG: “OK.”

Q Scottie Scheffler’s is also a cheeseburger. Cheeseburger slider.

BIG: “Yeah, well, we’re just the same. He’s a good guy.”
