The sixth of fifteen spring training sessions for the Ohio State football team is now complete as we work towards the annual LiFESports spring game on 04/15
During some drills and observations, some of the coaches and players were made available to answer questions from the local Columbus media. After the final practice, assistant coaches Brian Hartline and Jim Knowles were on hand to provide some updates and answer some reporter inquiries.
Ohio State has been a little more secretive this spring, so it’s always nice to hear directly from some coaches when we get a chance after watching a little of the action on the field at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Here are some of what offensive coordinator Brian Hartline and defensive coordinator Jim Knowles said after spring training on Tuesday.

What Hartline said
“Every time a guy comes in and does his business off the field he gets all the A’s straight away, he’s never missed a practice, he’s always on time, he gets his job done on the field. The combination of all of that. It is well deserved.”

What Knowles said
“We get more hands on more balls – we compete. That’s a great offense and we didn’t do our job in the matchup games we had to. To get better we have to win against our offense. We have to compete, we have to fight.”

What Knowles said
“In base defense you have to take this young promising player and he has to win with the twos… You show us that you can dominate with the twos, now we can start mixing you with the ones. You show you can keep up with them, now it’s up to me to create more positions and more opportunities for you.”
