Blue chip teammates will be visiting the swamp next weekend

The month of March has been a busy month for Florida’s recruitment team as players continue to stop by and watch spring camp and things don’t slow down in the second half of the month. A pair of Schley County (Ellaville, Georgia) blue-chip teammates, 2024 athlete Jalewis Solomon and 2025 linebackers Zayden Walkerloudly plan to visit the swamp on March 25th 247 sports.

Walker may be young, but he’s a five-star recruit in the 247Sports composite, despite receiving four-star grades from three of the four main recruiting services — ESPN has yet to give him a grade. Sophomores typically don’t get their fifth star until their junior and senior years, but Walker is on track to do so as No. 5 overall in the On3 industry rankings.

Florida offered it back in November, but Walker has also heard from several of the top programs in the country. Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, State of Ohio, Tennessee And Texas A&M all have offered him a scholarship, among other things.

The state of Florida recently hosted Walker on campus and runs the On3 recruitment prediction engine for him, but a lot can change after one visit. The Seminoles also lead for athlete Jalewis Solomon, who is a four-star recruit by any measure by 247Sports. However, he is still ranked 194th overall in the class of 2024 and 10th athlete in the On3 industry ranking.

Solomon also received an offer in November but is a year ahead of Walker in his decision time. No decision date has been set yet, but Solomon has named a Top 11. The Gators like him as a receiver, but there are schools that want him to play defensively. That could play a role in his decision.

The good news is Solomon plans to take things slow, meaning he could wait until the middle or end of his senior season to make a commitment.

These recruits are by no means a tandem deal, but they’ll likely come together. Impressing Solomon and possibly getting a signing from him could last a long time with Walker, who is at the top of his class.
