2024 state athlete visits Florida over the weekend

When Billy Napier was hired as Florida’s head coach, the top priority was to revitalize the Gators’ recruiting operation. While Dan Mullen was among the top play-callers in the nation, it was clear his recruitment was not up to par with the SEC. One of Napier’s priorities was that the core of his recruiting classes consisted of players from Florida.

One of the benefits of incredible athletic facilities is hosting high school sporting events, like this weekend’s Florida relay meet in Gainesville. Napier takes advantage of this and uses the event to meet up with him Michai Danzy, a four-star athlete from Tallahassee, Florida. said Danzy 247 sports that he would arrive on Thursday to attend practice but could also make some visits on Friday and Saturday while he is in town for the track meet.

This visit will be the second time Danzy has visited Gainesville this year, with the first returning in January. As a duel athlete, Danzy was able to attend both the football and track and field teams in January. On the football side, he is in touch with running backs coach Jabbar Juluke.

The Florida Stae University High School athlete visited Miami, Fla. earlier this month and was unable to make as many visits as he wanted due to his route schedule. Given his recent visits to Miami and Florida, growing up in Tallahassee, and attending high school on FSU’s campus, it seems like the 6-foot, 165-pound four-star hotel owes its roots to Florida’s three traditional powerhouses is owed. It’s also too early to rule out the state’s newest Power Five school, UCF, which will play its first Big 12 season in 2023.

While Danzy is a highly rated player and any team would be happy to have him, signing him with the Gators would be a huge win for Napier and his staff. Not only does it fit what the coaching staff expects in a player, it would be a head-to-head victory over the state’s competition. If the Gators want to compete for national championships again, they need to make sure they get the best talent in Florida to dress in orange and blue, not green, gold or garnet.
