Trump is preparing for the 2024 rally in Waco, Texas amid ongoing federal investigations, possible indictments in New York

Former President Donald Trump is set to travel to Texas next weekend for his first major rally as he seeks the GOP nomination for President in 2024.

As announced Friday, the leading Republican rally will be held on March 25 in Waco, Texas, which is part of McLennan County, which Trump won in 2020 by more than 23 points.

Trump has paid numerous visits to the state over the years. Waco is the scene of a deadly massacre in 1993 when federal agents seized property belonging to the Branch Davidians, a religious sect.

The plans for Trump’s rally come amid reports that Manhattan prosecutors may be preparing an indictment over alleged hush money payments Trump made while running for president in 2016.

But the possible indictment and Trump’s claim that he could be arrested on Tuesday aren’t stopping the former president’s team from ensuring the rally continues.

“There has been no notification, aside from illegal leaks from the Justice Department and the Attorney’s Office, to NBC and other fake news networks that the George Soros-funded prosecutor for Manhattan’s radical left Democrats has decided to take his witch hunt to the next level ‘ a Trump spokesman said Saturday. ‘President Trump is rightly asserting his innocence and arming our system of injustice. He will be in Texas next weekend for a huge rally. Make America Great Again!’

A court source told Fox News Digital The office of the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will meet with law enforcement to “discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean they expect an indictment next week.”

The possible charges stem from years of investigation into Trump’s alleged hush money scandal involving a porn star Stormy Daniels. Toward the end of the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump’s then-attorney Michael Cohen sent Daniels $130,000 to prevent her from disclosing her 2006 affair with Trump. Trump repaid Cohen in installments.

In a lengthy statement to Fox News Digital, Trump spokesman Steven Cheung called the investigation a “witch hunt” and accused Bragg of being in the bag President Biden and “Radical Democrats”.

“President Donald J. Trump is completely innocent, he did nothing wrong, and even the biggest, most radical left-wing Democrats make that clear,” Cheung said.
