All New York City police officers have been ordered to appear in uniform for assignments around the city following Friday’s indictment of former President Donald Trump.
An NYPD spokesman told Fox News Digital that NYPD officers had been ordered to wear uniform until 7 a.m. but there had been no credible threats.
“It’s just a preparation for anything that might happen,” the spokesman said.

Last week, the NYPD erected barricades around the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse ahead of a possible indictment against Trump. Earlier, Trump urged his supporters to protest if he was arrested.
The police directive came shortly after news that Trump had been charged with possible hush money payments as part of the Manhattan Attorney’s Office’s year-long investigation. The payments include a $130,000 transaction to adult film actress Stormy Daniels and a $150,000 payment to the former Playboy model Karen McDougalFox News Digital has learned.
hush money payments The payments to McDougal and Daniels were uncovered and reported by Fox News in 2018. These payments had been investigated by the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York and by the Federal Election Commission.
“Tonight we contacted Mr. Trump’s attorney to coordinate his transfer to the Manhattan Attorney’s Office for indictment on a Supreme Court indictment, which remains classified,” a spokesman for the attorney general’s office said. “Guidance will be given in choosing the date of indictment.”
Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York refrained from charging Trump in connection with the payment to Stormy Daniels in 2019, even though Cohen implicated him in his plea deal. The Federal Electoral Commission also closed its investigation into the matter in 2021.

“This is not an indictment of a crime — there was no crime — instead, this news is an indictment of a failed nation,” Taylor Budowich, CEO of Make America Great Again Inc., said in a statement. “President Trump promises to end the war in Ukraine peacefully, dismantle the deep state and save our country by putting America first. For this, the political elites and those in power have armed the government to try to stop him. You will fail.”
