Former President Donald Trump called the Manhattan District Attorney investigating him a “racist in reverse” amid reports the former president could be arrested this week on alleged campaign finance violations.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is reportedly preparing an indictment over alleged hush money payments made by Trump as a presidential candidate in 2016.
Trump on Sunday called Bragg, the New York City borough’s first black district attorney, a “reverse racist” on his Truth Social website and reiterated his claims of conspiracy in the 2020 election, which he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
“Biden wants to pretend he had nothing to do with the Manhattan Attorney’s Office’s assault on democracy, when in fact he ‘crammed’ the DA’s office with people from the Department of Injustice, including a senior DOJ official from DC, who actually leads the ‘Horseface’ witch hunt,” Trump wrote.

JOHN KIRBY IS NOT ‘AWARE’ OF THREATS TO VIOLENCE RELATED TO TRUMP’S CALL TO PROTEST.
“Bragg is a (Soros) racist in reverse taking his orders from DC, I beat them TWICE, did much better the second time, and despite their DISINFORMATION campaign they don’t want to go up against ‘TRUMP’ or my BIG RECORD! ” he said.
“When Alvin Bragg first took office, he made it very clear that like many other prosecutors, Donald J. Trump had no trial,” he wrote in a later post. “Then the Biden administration, the Democrats and the fake news media started pushing him and pushing him hard and deep [sic] and behold, he said that there might yet be a fall. I knew what that meant – He was being pushed into something that shouldn’t be done. He wasn’t ready to oppose Soros and the Marxists who are destroying our country!”
“Again, there was no ‘offence,'” he added. “There was no crime, period. Everyone else of the many Democratic law enforcement officers who looked at it made a pass [former Manhattan DA] Cy Vance and Bragg too. But then, much later (sic), he changed his mind. Phew, I wonder why? Misconduct by the prosecutor and interference with an election. Investigate the investigators!”
Trump has been criticized for calling on his supporters to protest on Saturday and claiming “illegal leaks” from the prosecutor’s office led him to believe he would be arrested on Tuesday.
Bragg’s office will reportedly be meeting with law enforcement officials to discuss the logistics of a possible indictment stemming from a year-long investigation into Trump’s alleged hush money scandal involving porn star Stormy Daniels.

In a post on Saturday, Trump described Bragg as “corrupt” and “highly political”.
“PROTEST, TAKE BACK OUR NATION!” he wrote.
Critics likened Trump’s call to action to the January 6, 2021 riot in the US Capitol, when a mob of his supporters stormed the Capitol, temporarily halting confirmation of President Biden’s election victory.
Bragg reportedly emailed his staff on Saturday to say attempts to intimidate his office would not be tolerated. His office has so far refused to confirm reports of an imminent indictment.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Sunday there was no evidence the White House was preparing for violence related to Trump’s post.

“We’re always monitoring the situation here as best we can,” Kirby told Fox News Sunday.
“I am not aware of any indication that we are preparing for this type of activity, particularly in relation to these comments,” he said. “But of course we are working hand in hand with local and state authorities across the country and we will continue to monitor this as best we can.”
