Graham slams criminal Bragg for targeting Trump while New Yorkers are lucky not to be ‘ mugged ‘

Sen. Lindsey Graham, RS.C., spoke out Saturday from the Manhattan Attorney’s office against a possible indictment of former President Donald Trump, urging the 2024 GOP presidential nominee to fight back and “do it to the friggin’ colonel.” bring to court.”

“The New York City Attorney did more to help Donald Trump get elected President than any other person in America today,” said Graham, from Charleston, South Carolina, at the Palmetto Family Council’s Vision ’24 Forum, a prominent conservative Christian event.

In New York City, “You’re lucky if you don’t get mugged on the way there. Is that really the most important thing in Manhattan?” Graham asked. “I think this is an ongoing, never-ending effort to destroy Donald Trump and everything around Donald Trump.”

Graham also questioned the legal rationale behind the possible charges, citing a New York Times Report stating that the possible charges were based on “untested and therefore risky legal theory”.

“They invent things that they’ve never used against anyone because they hate Trump. That’s it. They’re brewing a legal cocktail to try and make a bizarre theory,” Graham said. “The law that nobody in New York will apply just because they hate Trump. Do you know why they do this? Because they are afraid of Trump. That’s why they do it.”

Graham called the targeting of Trump “selective prosecution” and said if he were Trump he “would take this to the frigging Supreme Court.”

Graham’s comments, who backed Trump in the 2024 presidential race, follow reports that Manhattan prosecutors may be preparing an indictment over alleged hush money payments made by Trump as a presidential candidate in 2016.

A court source told Fox News Digital The office of the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will meet with law enforcement to “discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean they expect an indictment next week.”

The possible indictment would likely result from the years-long investigation into Trump’s alleged hush money scandal involving a porn actress Stormy Daniels. Toward the end of the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump’s then-attorney Michael Cohen sent Daniels $130,000 to prevent her from disclosing her 2006 affair with Trump. Trump repaid Cohen in installments.

Like Graham, other Republican lawmakers are also pushing Trump’s R-Calif against the potential impeachment against Trump, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

“Here we are again – an outrageous abuse of power by a radical prosecutor who is letting violent criminals free while pursuing political revenge on President Trump.” McCarthy wrote in a tweet.

Bragg has been criticized for downgrading half of all crimes in Manhattan last year, including armed robberies at commercial establishments, and for other progressive crime policies.

Rep. Claudia Tenney, RN.Y., said Bragg “allows violent criminals to walk the streets but abuses the rule of law and the powers of his office to target political opponents in partisan witch hunts.” He is unfit for the office.”

Reached for comment Fridaythe Manhattan Attorney’s Office would not “confirm or comment” on the upcoming indictment.
