Appears on Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live“to promote his new movie”Air‘ which tells the true story of how Nike landed Michael Jordan for a groundbreaking endorsement deal, the director/actor opened up about how it’s a ‘common misconception’ that he doesn’t enjoy himself at events.

Affleck went viral in February while attending this year’s Grammy Awards next to Jennifer Lopez and was filmed several times by the camera with a forlorn look on his face, as if he’d rather be somewhere else.

Kimmel, however, brought up another case in which the 50-year-old star’s “awkwardness” was on full display, proving Affleck doesn’t just seem disinterested in public.

“It seemed like you weren’t quite as excited about the party as everyone else,” Kimmel said of Affleck and Lopez’s Christmas party in December 2022.

Affleck threw back his head in a laugh before replying, “Look, that’s a common misconception about me.”

Kimmel suggested that Affleck should “tell his face” when he’s having a good time.

“I have a very unhappy looking calm face,” Affleck said, defending himself.

To prove his point, the Oscar-winner showed audiences what his “satisfied” and “amused” faces look like, before making facial expressions resembling those who are having the worst day of their life.

“That’s how God made me,” he continued, laughing. “You don’t have to punish me for that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Affleck suggested he saw the online reaction to his Grammy performance – calling the Twitter user the latest iteration of “Sad Affleck.”

“I’ve been the subject of the occasional meme,” he said.

Earlier this month, Affleck cleared up the confusion surrounding the tense-looking exchange he and Lopez – who he married in June 2022 — had during the awards show when host Trevor Noah walked over to her table for an on-air segment.

“I saw [host Trevor Noah approach] and I was like, ‘Oh God.’ They framed us in that shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling,” he said said The Hollywood Reporter.

“I leaned into them and I was like, ‘Once they start rolling, I’m going to slide off you and have you sit next to Trevor,'” Affleck said, telling Lopez. “She says, ‘You better not fucking go.’ It’s a husband and wife thing.”
