mixing bowls ready — The Great British Baking Show has a new co-host!
British TV personality Alison Hammond confirmed on Friday that she is replacing the actor Matt Luke in the famous white tent, co-host of the series – known overseas as The Great British Bake Off – next to comedian Noel Fielding.
“It’s official!! It’s happening The Great British Bake Off ! Let’s have it,” Hammond shared alongside a Twitter video of herself interviewing herself and her co-stars in pie form. “The cake that is 🤣. So excited.”
In addition to Fielding, Hammond will be assisted by regular judges Paul Hollywood And Prue Leith.
“So yes, it’s breaking news, Alison Hammond is joining the team of The Great British Bake Off‘ she said in the tongue-in-cheek video. “Alison, do you have any words? “Well, you know what I’m super excited about right now, I’ll be meeting the bakers very soon. I agree The Great British Bake Off, I’m so excited!’ “

The star then moved the on-screen mics to her costar cake figures. “As you can see, all my colleagues are absolutely speechless! Yes, yes, just speechless,” she continued. “We are so very, very happy and can’t wait to get started.”
Channel 4 TV, which broadcasts the series in the UK, confirmed on Friday that the 48-year-old will be co-hosting the show. It comes three months after Comedian and bridesmaids Star Lucas announced his departure from the show after three seasons.

“Finally I can talk about it! I’m absolutely thrilled to be there The Great British Bake Off and I can’t wait to meet this year’s bakers,” Hammond said in a Channel 4 release. “It’s a great honor to be back in the tent and I can’t wait to get started.”

Hammond recently hosted the 2023 BAFTA Awards next to actors Richard E Grant and is known for co-hosting the popular British daytime show This morningwhere they job interviews with stars incl Harrison Ford And Ryan Gosling have gone viral.

The mother-of-one is no stranger to the tent, having appeared as a baker for the shows back in 2020 Celebrity Special need help from Standing up to cancer.
Channel 4 also confirmed that filming for the show’s 14th season, which will air on Netflix in the US, will begin this spring. The series will air later this year.
